Staff Profiles
AirTight Design is a streamlined company. We have a small, highly skilled staff and very little overhead. We keep things simple so that we can focus on building powerful web sites for our clients at a reasonable price.
Meet the professionals who work for AirTight Design. All of the staff members listed on this page are full-time employees (not freelancers) who work locally in our Inman Park office. Here they are, listed in order of surliness:
Ward
Binns, President
Ward has expertise in all aspects of web development, including strategy development, site architecture, graphic design, usability, web analytics and search engine optimization. He is proficient in numerous programming languages and Internet technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Flash. He has led the development of more than 200 web sites and web applications. Prior to founding AirTight Design in 2000, Ward worked as content manager for AccessAtlanta.com and AJC.com, the highest ranked local web site in the United States and was the editor of a group of community newspapers in Atlanta. Ward lives in Poncey-Highland. He enjoys fishing, because he feels compelled to prove he is intellectually superior to bass.
Chris Burnett, Lead Developer
Our lead developer, Chris Burnett, has been working in various disciplines of digital art and technology for more than seven years. For the past eight years he has developed a wide array of professional skills in web/interactive development, particularly PHP. He specializes in strict standardization of Application Architecture and Coding Practices for web database applications. Chris lives in Cabbagetown and performs throughout the country with his band, Larvae. You probably wouldn't like them.
Jier-Shu
Chen, Creative Director
Shu, our creative director, graduated from Oglethorpe
University with a degree in Business Administration
and Behavorial Science. Seeking new medias to explore,
Shu first focused his creative eye on the web five years
ago. He has become proficient in image editing and vector
based programs, such as Photoshop and Fireworks and
has a soft spot for Macromedia Flash as well. Other
technical skills include HTML, CSS, Javascript and ActionScript. Shu is a Grant Park resident and avid kung fu practitioner. So don't mess with him.
Cappy Davis, Web Developer
Cappy has been a web developer for six years. He is a XHTML and CSS master, and is skilled at writing PHP. Prior to joining AirTight Design in 2008, Cappy operated his own web development business, Rich and Clever Web Services. Cappy lives in Inman Park, so his commute totally rocks.
Jarrett Gossett, Web Developer
Jarrett is a web developer with a background in both design and application development. He has worked with PHP/MySQL, Javascript, CSS, XHTML and a variety of other technologies to create usable and visually appealing websites and has been practicing these skills for over 6 years. Jarrett has a degree in Computer Information Systems from Coosa Valley Technical College. He lives in Buckhead and enjoys bad movies and video games.
Cristian Popa-Romero, Web Developer
Cristian specializes in design for the web. He recently relocated from Miami where he worked as a self-employed Web designer for the past seven years. He spends his days drawing shiny layouts in his favorite tool of the trade, Adobe Photoshop, writing XHTML and CSS code for his designs, and, once in a while, programming in PHP. He now lives in Lawrenceville and tries hard to readjust to non-tropical weather. He was born and raised in Transylvania, so he naturally hates the smell of garlic.
Marcus Rosentrater, Web Developer
Marcus is a highly skilled developer specializing in PHP/MySQL web applications. He is vigilant about web standards and efficient coding. Marcus uses Cascading Style Sheets extensively to facilitate rapid development and simple maintenance of web sites. His other skills include JavaScript, ASP and ColdFusion. He has a background in filmmaking and post-production, with training at The Colorado Film School. Marcus lives in Candler Park and for fun he enjoys editing really obscure documentaries about subjects such as Richard Nixon's visit to Mobile, Alabmama and the history of radio cryptology. Pretty wierd, huh?
